Accessible Parking

General

Providence College requires all vehicles parked in designated accessible parking spaces to display both a valid Providence College parking permit AND a valid state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate. Any vehicle parked in a designated accessible parking space or otherwise using a state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate for parking privileges must be operated by the individual to whom the placard or license plate was issued. Use of an accessible parking placard or license plate by any other individual is prohibited.

The state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate must be the valid owner AND with the permit holder’s account in the ARMS Parking App.

A state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate does not authorize parking on campus without a valid Providence College parking permit. Resident students who are not eligible for or do not possess a valid College parking permit may not park a vehicle on campus at any time, regardless of whether they have a state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate. Students requiring a long-term parking accommodation due to a medical condition must submit a request for consideration through the Dean of Students Office. Approval of a medical accommodation does not replace the requirement to obtain the appropriate Providence College parking permit.

Students and employees with a state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate should record the placard or license plate number in the Driver’s License field of their ARMS Parking App profile to ensure it is associated with their parking permit.

Vehicles parked in designated accessible parking spaces without both a valid Providence College parking permit and a properly displayed state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate are subject to citation and other enforcement actions in accordance with the Providence College Parking Regulations.
