Faculty & Staff

Faculty and staff can obtain parking permits that allow them to park in designated faculty/staff lots on campus. Faculty and staff may park on campus AFTER receiving a parking permit and in faculty/staff lots ONLY. Permits provide approval to park but do not guarantee the availability of a parking space. It is advisable to plan ahead and explore alternative approved parking areas when a desired location is unavailable.

Hangtags are valid for the full academic school year and should be hung from the rear-view mirror of the assigned vehicle at all times while parked on campus.​

Application Process

Faculty and staff may apply for a parking permit in the ARMS Parking Application (Safari not supported). To apply for a parking permit:

  1. Please make sure your vehicle information in the ARMS Parking Application (note: Safari browser is not supported) is current and complete, with all required fields filled out.
  2. Once your profile is updated, faculty and staff can request a parking permit at no charge through the ARMS Parking Application.
  3. Permit requests are processed promptly during regular business hours.
  4. You will receive an email notification from the Office of Transportation when your permit is ready for pickup. If you prefer to receive your permit via campus mail, please email your request to transportation@providence.edu. Please note that the Office of Transportation does not mail permits to off-campus addresses.
  5. Pickup hours for permits are listed on this page. If you cannot pick up your permit during these hours and would like to authorize someone else to do so on your behalf, please send their information to transportation@providence.edu.

Replacement Permits

If your permit or hangtag is damaged and requires replacement, please bring it to the Office of Transportation and Parking to receive a new one. If your permit or hangtag is lost, notify the Office of Transportation immediately. A replacement permit will be issued for your vehicle, and you will be informed when it is ready for pickup.

Reminder: Faculty and staff are permitted to park only in designated faculty/staff parking areas. Parking in any other lots may result in citations. While your permit grants you permission to park, it does not guarantee a parking space will be available. We recommend planning ahead and familiarizing yourself with alternative approved parking locations in case your preferred lot is full.
