Shuttle Services

Regular Shopping Shuttle and Friar Nite Shuttles will begin
Thursday, September 3, 2026.

General

A PC Card is required to access the Friar Nite shuttle and the Shopping Shuttle.

We are excited to introduce the new On Demand shuttle service! Students may now book shuttle transportation using the On Demand feature in the TripShot app! TripShot offers trip planning and the ability to travel with predictability by signing up for True-Time Notifications and Alerts.

How to request a shuttle:

  • Open the TripShot app.
  • From the Home screen, select On Demand.
  • Tap the “Where would you like to go” field to see your options.
  • Select your destination. Review your pickup location and the pickup/drop off times.
  • For special requests, you can add a Pickup Note.
  • Click the Request Ride button to confirm your trip.
  • Go to My Trips to see your On Demand rides.

First Time Riders:

  • Download the TripShot app from the Apple or Play Store.
  • Enter the Service Name: Providence College.
  • Select Sign Up and enter your Providence College email address.
  • Click the confirmation link in your email to finish setting up your TripShot account before your first ride.

Friar Nite Shuttle

The Friar Nite Shuttle is now an On Demand service that transports students both on campus and through area streets near campus.

  • On-campus stops include: Concannon Circle, Aquinas Quad Roundabout, Cunningham/St. Dominic’s Chapel, Phillips Memorial Library, Raymond Hall (streetside), St. Joseph Hall, Annie Street/Schneider Lots, Ventura Lot (at Ryan School of Business), Hunt-Cavanagh Lot (at Koffler Hall), Mondor School of Nursing, Bedford Hall/Davis Hall at Health Services, Wardlaw/FDC Lot.
  • Off-campus stops include: Oakland Avenue, Chad Brown Street, Pembroke Aveenue, Radcliffe Avenue, Pinehurst Avenue, Tyndall Avenue, Pasteur Street, Shanley Hall on Eaton Street, Huxley Avenue at Admiral Street, and the Huxley Avenue Gate.

Generally, the Friar Nite Shuttle runs Thursday – Saturday nights (while classes are in session) from 7:00 pm – 3:00 am.

Shopping Shuttle

The Shopping Shuttle is now also On Demand! Students can use the TripShot app to schedule a pickup at a time that works for them, eliminating the need to wait for the shuttle to complete a scheduled route.

The on-demand Shopping Shuttle operates Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (while classes are in session from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm).

The Shopping Shuttles provides transportation to and from the following off-campus locations:

  • Shaw’s Supermarket
  • Providence Place Mall
  • Amtrak/MBTA Train Station
  • Thayer Street @ Chipotle)
  • Trader Joe’s (South Main Street)
  • Seven Stars Bakery (Hope Street)
  • CVS (corner of Admiral Street and Douglas Avenue)
  • Constantino’s (Federal Hill)

Students may be dropped off at any of these locations and can request a return trip to campus through TripShot. Return trips are available to either Huxley Gate or Concannon Circle.

The shuttle vehicle is white, distinguishable by the Providence College text sign and Valet Park of America logo.
