Temporary Parking
Resident students who do not have a parking permit may request one (1) temporary permit per semester, valid for up to five (5) consecutive evenings, provided there is space available.
Temporary Parking Permits may only be issued for the personal vehicle of the student making the request, not another student’s vehicle. Students who request a Temporary Parking Permit for another student’s vehicle will lose the priviledge of receiving a parking permit in the future.
Students are encouraged to submit their requests in advance of the intended start date to ensure (1) space is available for their vehicle, as temporary permits are not guaranteed, (2) that there is time to process the request, and (3) the student has time to pick up the permit and place it in the vehicle. Providence College does not provide virtual permits at this time.
The issued permit must be clearly displayed in the vehicle at all times while parked on campus.
How to Request a Temporary Permit
- Ensure that the vehicle listed in your request is included in your profile in the ARMS Parking Application (Safari not supported). If the vehicle is not included in your profile, or if you already received a temporary permit for the semester, your request will automatically be denied.
- Submit a request for a Temporary Parking Permit by clicking the button below.
Permits are processed during regular business hours, and processing times may exceed one day during busy periods. Requestors will receive notification whether their request is denied through email. For approved requests, the requestor may pick up the Temporary Parking Permit in the Office of Transportation & Parking in Alumni LL06 during regular business hours.
Where to Park
Students with a Temporary Parking Permit are authorized to park in the Schneider and Annie Street Lots only. The permit must be clearly displayed on the vehicle’s rear-view mirror at all times.
Students are responsible for ensuring their vehicle is parked in the designated area and should refer to the Providence College Interactive Map to verify approved parking locations.
Typical Reasons a Request May Be Denied
- Limited space on campus.
- Duplicate requests during the same semester.
- Request is for someone else’s vehicle.
- Vehicle information not included in the driver’s profile in the ARMS Parking Application.
